Frequently Asked Questions
What is the purpose of daycare for dogs?
More than just a safe place for our furry family members to play during the day, daycare is meant to foster appropriate social interaction between our dogs. (Back)
Is there a minimum attendance requirement at Sadie’s?
Yes, we have found that dogs that have come in sporadically or once in a while struggle each time they come into the daycare. It is for that reason we ask our clients to commit to at least one day per week on a consistent basis. (Back)
What do I need to do to enroll at Sadie’s?
Each dog that comes into the daycare needs to complete a behavioral assessment. This is booked Monday to Friday between 9:00-10:30am and takes about 35 minutes. We ask that a parent or guardian be present for this assessment to ask or answer any questions that may arise from the assessor. The cost of the assessment is $14.25 and includes some playtime if all goes well with the initial observations. (Back)
At what age can my dog start daycare?
Our minimum age is 16 weeks. (Back)
When do you require my dog to be spayed or neutered?
It is mandatory that all dogs are spayed or neutered by the age of 6 months. If advised by your vet, we can extend this period no later than 8 months of age. (Back)
What vaccinations do you require?
At the time of the assessment we will be asking to see proof of shots including Rabies and Bordetella (also referred to as “Kennel Cough”) as well as the Parvo Mix. (Back)
Do you require parasite preventatives?
Though not mandatory, we highly recommend parasite preventatives that cover flees, ticks, & K9 Lice. Products such as Advantage Multi, or Revolution are indicated for all common parasites and are available from your veterinarian. (Back)
What are the daycare hours for drop off and pick up?
We are open Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 6:00pm. We prefer that dogs are dropped off no later than 10:00am. Pick-ups can be any time after that. (Back)
What is the cost of daycare?
Our regular daily rate is $24.00 per full day or $16.00 per ½ day. We also have full and half day flexi passes that can reduce the cost of the daily rates by up to 20%. Additionally we do offer a 20% pass discount for a second dog within the same household. These are discussed with you at the time of the assessment. (Back)
How do I arrange an assessment?
1st, ensure that your dog has all the required vaccinations. Please call us directly to arrange an assessment time that works best for you. (780) 756-0432. (Back)
Are there health issues to be aware of?
If you can imagine kids in daycare or school, dogs can be susceptible to prevailing health issues too. Though it would seem kids can come home with a myriad of bugs, there are only a handful of things you should be on the lookout for with your dog when they frequent the dog park or the daycare. See Keeping Dogs Healthy page for more information. (Back)
